The transport system transantiago seems a good idea. At least the idea seemed good to me all the time.
I remembered that started in 2007. I remembered the day that started, i had to walked a lot and so late, because there wasn't any bus. Anyway, today the things are a little different. Here is just my opinion about that.
Today there are more routes than the beginning of transantiago, and that routes are accommodated better to the needs of people. For example, in my case today i just need one bus to go home and before i needed more. It's true that a lot of people in the previous system just took one bus and now they have to take a lot of transshipments, but it is also true that the drivers had to drove routes amazingly extensive before and that it was one of the causes of his tiredness and bad performance. I think that is an improvement of the worker's life quality and therefore an improvement of the service.
Another important point to consider is the payment system. The actual method is very much useful because you don't have to carry all that coins and mainly the driver don't have to worry about giving you the change. I remembered that it was a problem because the driver had to take care of the people and take care of the way. Evidently that was a risk to everyone.
In the bad points, we can say that still today there isn't the necessary buses to satisfy the needs of people, and there isn't the education to pay the tariff without a driver forcing them. I think it's the big problem (not the most, but still it's a big problem): a lack of education, and this brings another problem: the government rise the tariff to remedy the hole of money and people that really pay is the most affected. That is awful.
In conclusion, there is a lot of more changes to do for improve the services. Even so, i think this idea is better, but the implementation is poor. Maybe, like another uncountable ideas our country aren't ready for it. Maybe the solution has always been that the public transport belongs to the state. In one way or another, i have to pay the bus every day.
